Maryhurst Dodge Ball Day

For those of you that haven’t heard, our June Dodge Ball Day will collect items for the folks at Maryhurst. Here is a quick overview of Dodge Ball Day for anyone uninitiated. Dodge Ball Day consists of two components. The first is an event where we play dodge ball for 45 minutes. The second (and more important component) is a collection drive for a local charity or non-profit.

We have had two previous Dodge Ball Days in 2015. The first we collected food items for the kitchen at St. Vincent de Paul. It was an awesome day, we had tons of fun playing dodge ball and we collected tons of food items that they needed.

Next we collected stuffed animals for the Pinkey Project. Which was actually created by one of our own students (also a Black Belt Club Member in our Leadership program). She takes new or gently used stuffed animals, cleans them up, and then brings them to a hospital. The hospital then gives the stuffed animals to children in the hospital that could use a friend. Here is a link to some of the piles of stuffed animals that were donated through the dojo.

For Maryhurst we are specifically collecting items for the Welcome Baskets they give to girls when they are first admitted. Here is a link to the Welcome Basket Items, for your convenience we are also going to post the list below.

We hope to see everyone there!
This is the list of all the items that go into a Welcome Basket (including the basket). We are happily accepting donations of any or all of the items off this list, whatever you are able to contribute will help someone in need.
