Since we officially opened our Black Belt Club earlier this year we have gotten a ton of awesome applications from students. Like this one from Miss Jordyn. Everyone has different reasons for starting the martial arts and everyone has different reasons for staying. We are proud to get to share the ones that we can.

What do you like most about being a Black Belt?

The journey to Black Belt is not easy. It takes countless hours of practice both inside the dojo and at home, but it is certainly worth the effort. Very few people who begin martial arts training will ever reach Black Belt, so those who do should be proud of their accomplishment. Dedicating so much time and effort over the years taught me how rewarding it can be to commit to a very difficult goal and then achieve it.

As a Black Belt, I have continued setting ever higher goals for myself. In the dojo, I try to improve each day by practicing my old techniques so that I can better understand and execute them. When I learn new techniques, I strive to master them by dedicating the same enthusiasm (self discipline, respect, and self control) translate to my everyday life and help me achieve my goals outside the dojo as well.
